Detrimera is a formal investigation emerging from the material and structural memory of the İMÇ. Developed within the framework of the exhibition’s repack theme, the work approaches residual materials not as passive remnants or merely recyclable matter, but as active agents that carry and transmit the site’s layered organization.

The work brings forth a speculative entity derived from the intersection of detritus and chimera. Here, detritus is understood as a generative material field formed through processes of fragmentation and disintegration, yet continuously sustaining transformation and latent life. Chimera operates as a mode of assembly where heterogeneous parts converge within a singular yet plural body. Through this lens, the work rearticulates dispersed and decomposed matter into a hybrid, articulated organism.

Structured as six modular units, the form reflects the fragmented and multi layered condition of the space itself. It unfolds through a tension between repetition and variation. Each unit simultaneously extends and deviates from the others. Rather than stabilizing into a fixed whole, the work proposes a system in constant reconfiguration.

Materially, the organism incorporates cardboard, fabric, wire, musical instruments, and various discarded fragments, embedding within its body the residues of İMÇ’s everyday flows. These elements coexist as multiple visual and material languages, rendering visible the site’s polyphony and the simultaneity of different modes of production.

As an architecture that has evolved into a creature, the form shifts from a singular identity toward a relational body composed of flows, thresholds, and connections. Its repeating and mutating limbs point to the site’s multiple points of access and the circulation of production within it. In doing so, İMÇ is reimagined not as a static structure, but as a living system, one that proliferates and continually reconstructs itself through its own remains.

By repositioning waste as an active component of spatial and collective memory, Detrimera proposes a speculative framework in which architecture, collectivity, and production are not only structured, but embodied.
