Hemşin Animals is a series of murals by No More Lies, painted onto walls in and around Hemşin. Each one takes a local animal as its subject and gives it back the name it carries in Hemşince: hotit, lordu, and the others that still move through everyday speech even where the language itself is thinning.
The animals are painted where they would be met: on the walls of a village, on the side of a barn, at the edge of a road going up the valley. Anyone passing reads the name before they read the picture.
